James and Lisa, Parents of a Neurodivergent Child
The Thompson Family
At Webb Community Foundation, we believe that early support and education can transform the lives of children and families. That’s why we have partnered with South Okanagan Assessment Program (SOAP) to fund experienced Speech and Language Pathologists (SLPs) to deliver Autism Assessments and Education alongside an exceptional pediatrician. This program is designed to provide families with vital assessments, guidance, and education around neurodiversity, helping children with autism and other communication challenges thrive.
How Our Partnership Works:
• Comprehensive Assessments:
SLPs provide expert evaluations for children, identifying speech, language, and communication needs that may be linked to autism or other neurodivergent conditions.
• Family Education:
Families receive clear, compassionate guidance, helping them understand their child’s unique communication style, strengths, and areas for growth.
• Individualized Strategies:
SLPs offer practical strategies to support children at home, in school, and in social settings, empowering parents and caregivers with the tools they need.
• Access for All:
Thanks to the support of our donors and partners, these services are offered at no cost to families facing financial hardship.
Why This Partnership Matters:
By partnering with SOAP, Webb Community Foundation can ensure that children and their families receive expert support at a critical time in their development. The program promotes early identification, effective intervention, and a deeper understanding of neurodiversity—aligning with our mission to build stronger, more connected families.
