Caring for Parents, Nurturing Wellness, Fostering Connection
The perinatal period—from conception through the first year after birth—is a time of profound transition. While often portrayed as joyful, this journey can also bring emotional overwhelm, isolation, and distress. At the Webb Community Foundation, we understand that supporting mental health during this tender time is not a luxury—it’s essential.
Perinatal mental health disorders can affect anyone, regardless of background or birth experience. These are not signs of weakness or failure—they are common, treatable conditions that deserve attention and compassion. These may include:
Postpartum Depression (PPD) – persistent sadness, withdrawal, guilt, or emotional numbness
Perinatal Anxiety – racing thoughts, excessive worry about the baby’s health or parenting
Postpartum OCD – intrusive thoughts or compulsions often focused on safety
Postpartum PTSD – trauma symptoms following a difficult birth or medical emergency
Postpartum Psychosis – a rare but serious condition involving hallucinations, delusions, or confusion
Pregnancy or Birth-Related Grief – loss, miscarriage, or fertility struggles can also impact mental well-being
These challenges are more common than many realize—and they are valid, real, and treatable.
Isolation increases risk. Support changes outcomes.
Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, unseen, or just not yourself, connecting with others who understand can be a powerful lifeline. Through peer support, therapeutic care, and educational workshops, the Webb Community Foundation fosters meaningful connections between parents, caregivers, and professionals.
We believe that when families are supported, communities thrive.
At the Webb Community Foundation, we are committed to:
Providing access to free or low-cost support services
Creating safe, inclusive spaces for all birthing experiences, including adoptive, surrogate, LGBTQ2S+ and solo parents
Offering trauma-informed workshops and wellness groups facilitated by counsellors, perinatal professionals, and community educators
Partnering with local professionals to integrate yoga, sound healing, nutrition, and therapeutic education into whole-family care
We walk alongside families—through the joyful moments and the heavy ones—because no one should navigate this alone.
Whether you’re seeking help, looking to connect, or want to learn more about what perinatal support looks like in your community, we’re here for you.

House calls by a trained peer worker for moms with infants 0-6 months - think help with housework, childcare while you nap, someone to go on walks/to the park with you and your baby for fresh air, and someone to talk to who understands. Families will receive weekly 2 hour home visits for the first three months, followed by biweekly/monthly 2 hour home visits for the second three months. This pilot program is reserved for residents of Canwood/Shellbrook RM and has four intakes a year. It is made possible by the Webb Community Foundation and overseen by a Registered Social Worker/Perinatal Therapist and Registered Postpartum Nurse.
